Cancellation: If you need to cancel your registration, contact the administrator by filling in the Contact Form at the right bottom corner of the page.
Refund: You can get a full refund of your registration fees if you cancel the registration before the registration deadline. Once registration ends, there will be NO REFUNDS or CREDITS, unless we fail to form a division at your playing level, in which case you will get a 100% refund.
What happens if my opponent doesn’t show up?
In case your opponent doesn’t show up more than 20 minutes after agreed match time, you will be considered a match winner and awarded with two points. You should then go to the submitting score page and, instead of entering the results, check the box ‘Player never showed up’ below the score table.
How do I deactivate my account?
For account deactivation, contact the administrators by filling in the Contact Form at the right bottom corner of the page.
How do I reset my password if I forget it?
Navigate to the login screen and click on the 'Forgotten Password?' button. You will be taken to the reset password page where you would need to enter the email address used during the registration process. If your email address is valid, you will receive an email with a password reset key and a link for changing the password. After you click on the link, you'll be automatically taken to a page where you can choose a new password.
How do I change my skill level?
After you set your skill level initially, you cannot change it yourself anymore. To change it, you should ask for administrator's permission by filling in the Contact Form, located at the bottom right corner of the page. The reason for this is that we are trying to keep our league competitive and fair, which also means disabling players to play in leagues they are overqualified for.
How do I change my home court?
After logging into your account, click 'My Profile' button at the top right corner of the page, and choose ‘Home Court'. Click on the 'Change Home Court' button, and after entering your location information, choose one of the courts from the map or list below it. If you don’t enter your location info, the system will show you the nearest courts to your current location. If for some reason you cannot locate your home court using our automatic court locator, or you own a home court, click the 'Suggest a Court' button. After you submit the information about your home court, we'll make sure to review it and to submit it to our courts database. After you receive an email confirmation that the court has been approved, it will automatically be set as your home court.
Why do you ask me about my shirt size?
Well, everyone deserves a gift and we give one to randomly chosen players the first time they register for a season. No gifts are given out if the season is free.
What is eTennisLeague.com?
eTennisLeague.com is a state of the art website that connects players on the same level and in the same city. eTennisLeague.com uses advanced algorithm that checks your location and your skill level to locate the leagues closest to you.
How to register on eTennisLeague.com?
Simply click 'Join Free' and you will get to our registration page. There are a few options available for your convenience. If you have a Facebook or a Twitter account, you can use one of the two to login faster and without using our activation system. If you prefer registering with your email address, just enter your registration information, click 'Register' and check you mailbox for the activation link. After you click on the activation link, you will automatically be taken to a page from which you would be able to browse your dashboard, profile or check other players.
How to set my profile?
After the registration process, it is very important to set your profile, so that you can start playing leagues. Simply click 'My Profile' on the top right corner of the page, and you'll be taken to your profile page. There are a few sections here.
The first one is 'Personal Info' where should you tell us a bit more about yourself, change your photo, enter your address, birthplace and education.
The second section is 'Home Court'. This information is very important during the league season, because before your opponents can reserve you or invite you for a match, they will need to know your home court location to be able to propose to play on your court.
The third section is 'Doubles'. There you'll see data about your doubles partner, or a list of available players close to you who want to play doubles matches, but don't have a partner.
Fourth section is 'Mixed Doubles', and it has same features as Doubles.
The fifth section is 'Health' where you can choose between ‘Healthy’ and ‘Injured’ statuses. Use this during the season in case you get injured, but bear in mind that all your matches will be defaulted automatically and your opponents will get two points each.
Sixth, and one of the players' favorite sections, is 'Tennis Profile' where you can tell us about the way you play tennis, your weight/height and other variables that other players can see when browsing your stats.
Seventh section is 'Gear' where you can enter data about your tennis equipment, like racquet, head size, strings, etc. and this is what your opponents will see when browsing your stats profile, too.
What is My Dashboard?
Dashboard is where you can track your active league seasons, regardless whether you are playing singles, doubles or mixed - this is where you start. Upcoming leagues will also be presented on your Dashboard, so you can register from there. You can see Match Requests for league play or friendly matches, Match Queue for the matches that you've already scheduled, and players near you who want to play friendly matches. You can also set your availability here in case your schedule is tight and known during the week. After the regular season play ends, the active playoff will be shown here.
What is My Stats?
'My Stats' shows everything about you and your tennis league career. Other players can browse your stats and see your personal information, the gear you are using, information about the number of matches won/lost, friendly matches stats, advanced graphics throughout the seasons by using a filter; they can compare and check notes on any encounter you had in the past, and much more, but we want you to discover that on your own. Also, you can view currently playing leagues, previous leagues, friendly matches and playoffs you participated in.
What is Player List?
'Player List' is a list of eTennis League players. You can filter the players by skill level, city, or you can search for a specific player. You have an option to browse top players for certain league and season. Click on a player and view that player's stats, compare yourself against him/her or request a friendly match.
What are League Stats?
‘League Stats’ shows your statistics for a specific league and season by listing season results and playoff draw. Simply select skill level, league and season and view detailed results.
What is Messages button for?
'Messages' button is used to communicate with your league opponents, friendly opponents or your friends within the league by using our internal messaging system. Messages system is completely connected with the emailing system, and it is used during the season for match scheduling, in case you decide not to use our reserve-player system.
How do I register for league season?
After the league season registration starts, you’ll receive an email notification containing the registration and season dates. During this period, you can go to your dashboard and see all upcoming leagues for your city and level in the top right corner. Click ‘Register’ button for the upcoming league you want to sign up for. It is very important that you set your billing info, because if you don't, the system will not allow you to register and you will receive notification to set your billing info. We advise to do this during the profile setup process.
Are leagues offered in my area?
eTennisLeague.com is a tennis league website with whole world in mind. We start league seasons everywhere we can, i.e. where there are enough registered players. The more people signs up, the better the competition and prizes. What types of leagues are offered?
Currently we offer Men's and Women's Singles leagues. As we get more participants for Doubles and Mixed Doubles, we'll start those leagues in qualified areas, too.
Which playing levels are offered?
For adults, eTennisLeague.com uses the NTRP rating system as the basis for adult league playing levels. We initially offer levels 1.5 through 6.0 in all cities. All levels are available but we create league season for specific levels according to participation and number of registered players. If you are a 2.0 player and for example we only have 3 players registered that is not enough for us to start a league, but as registration progresses each level gets activated as soon as we have at least number for player for the round of 8.
How much does it cost to play?
Adult leagues are regularly priced at $25 for Men's and Women's Singles. The first season is usually free when we start a league in a new city for the first time.
How long does the league season last?
The league season lasts for 60 days straight. After the regular season play is over and you are qualified for the playoff, we give you a few days to inform us whether you are available to play in the playoff or not. The number of playoff rounds and its duration depends on the number of players qualified.
What happens after I register for a league season?
After the league season registration period ends, you’ll receive an email informing you that the league season is starting and that you can start playing your matches. Just go to your dashboard and the active season will show at the bottom. Click on it and you'll be taken to a list of all your opponents. There are a few options available for scheduling your matches. The first one is ‘Reserve Player’ – you’ll be able to see the player's availability throughout the week (of course, if the player has the availability set) and to propose two terms for the match, and the court as well. The second option is to use our messaging system by clicking on the message icon in the list next to the player’s name. This will send a message to your opponent and you’ll be able to schedule a match after close chat about the most suitable timings.
If you use our ‘Reserve Player’ and availability system, your match will automatically appear on your dashboard in Match Queue after you accept it. You’ll be able to see the date of the match and you’d be able to submit scores from there.
If you decide to schedule a match by sending messages, then you’d need to go to Active Season and submit score from there after the match is over. Our system will record the time you submit the score as the match time.
We highly recommend you use our availability and ‘Reserve Player’ system, as this way Match Requests, Match Queue and best possible schedule gets generated, which is great for both you and your opponent.
What happens after the playoff ends?
After the playoff ends, we congratulate all league season Champions and we send out well-deserved prizes. We ask the champions to take a picture with the cash check and the trophy and send it to us, so that we can share it on social media.
During the period between two seasons, you are welcome to use our system to schedule friendly matches with tennis players in your area. Our goal is to keep you busy on the court and in good shape for the next season. Make sure you submit scores and we’ll collect the statistics. As our website development progresses, we’ll shape that statistics data allowing you to filter as many details as possible from both your friendly matches and your season matches.
Where do I play my matches?
Players must choose a home court when registering for a league. Players can choose courts in their neighborhood, public or private facilities, basically any court that can be reserved for playing and that has restroom facilities. The players must choose facilities with lighted courts, since some matches may be played in the evening. Players will typically play half of their matches at their home courts and half of their matches at their opponents' courts. We create divisions based on playing level and location with an attempt to minimize the driving distance.
How do I schedule matches?
Most of other tennis communities use either a pre-determined, week-after-week play schedule, or they use mass messaging/emailing to contact every player in your league and ask if anyone is available to play. We've solved that problem with our ‘Set Availability’ and ‘Reserve Player’ features. All players can check out their opponents’ availability before they reserve each other for a match. Each player must propose two terms for a match.
After you reserve an opponent, the request will appear on your opponent’s dashboard, and he/she should accept, reject or re-schedule it. After your opponent accepts the reserve request, it will automatically be moved to the Match Queue. After the match is over, both players need to go to their dashboards and submit scores, which will automatically be presented in the league board as points.
You can also use the messaging system to schedule matches, but in this case, Match Requests and Match Queues don’t get automatically created.
How do I submit scores?
To submit a friendly match result, first you will need to locate the player you played the match against. To do this, type his/her name into the search bar at player list page. When you find your opponent, click on his profile, and there you’ll be able to submit a friendly match result. Remember, this option will not appear in case the player didn’t previously confirm that he/she is willing to play friendly matches.
During the active season your schedule will appear on your dashboard page. You will be able to see the list of all your opponents with determined home court privilege. The players take it up from there and agree about everything else. Next to your opponent’s information in the table, you’ll see a ‘Submit Score’ button. Click it to enter your match score, and after you do, both you and your opponent will get notified via email about the score. Only one of you can enter the score. The results and points showing in real-time are being populated in the Active Season table.
How to Submit Second Score?
After submitting the first score of the first match, additional match will automatically appear in the Match Queue. Of course, the home courts will be switched. By introducing this new feature, players got the privilege to play revanche match against the same player. Check out our Second Score Feature video presentation.
What are Match Notes used for?
While submitting your match scores, you can also enter notes about your matches. The next time you play or browse your opponents, just click 'View Notes' and we'll remind you which tactics you used or what was specific about that opponent. Many players use different tactics and they definitely want to memorize which of them work and which don't, so this is where this feature comes in really handy.
What is Sportsmanship Rating?
One more feature we are very proud of is the Sportsmanship Rating. It's a very simple, one to five-star system that rates player’s sportsmanship, and you must rate your opponents while submitting match scores. We introduced this feature to protect fair play and to avoid players that are not. This is a mandatory field and it is required for every match, including friendly matches, and it is calculated throughout the year.
How can I qualify for the playoff?
To qualify for the playoff, you will need to win 5 sets in total during the season play, which equals 5 points. You can check if you qualified for the playoff in the ‘Standings’ table on your dashboard. Red ‘X’ mark means that you are not qualified, green check mark means that you are qualified, and orange check mark means that a wildcard was awarded to you.
What do eTennis League playoffs look like?
Our playoffs are Wimbledon-style playoffs, and we are very proud with our system. After the season ends and you confirm your participation in the playoff, our system will automatically create a draw and you can start your matches.
Every round lasts for 7 days. If there aren’t enough players for the round, the players with lowest scores will need to play qualifications to get into playoff round. Also, for example, if we have 17 players qualified for the playoff, naturally, a round of 16 should be created. Only two players will play against each other to get in the round of 16, and we call this round the Qualification Round. After we get a winner, he/she will join the remaining 15 to form a round of 16.
What kind of prizes do you give?
We have a dynamic system of giving out prizes. Our standard prizes for the champion are: custom engraved tennis trophy for the season and a cash prize. The cash prize depends on the number of division participants, and that number gets multiplied by $8. This means that the winner of a league with 10 participants can win $80!
